A Career in Construction

Construction is a diverse industry. The career opportunities are endless at virtually all skill and educational levels. The Employ Florida Banner Center for Construction (BCC) has been created to help individuals to more readily identify the appropriate opportunity for them. “A Career in Construction” was created through a partnership of construction industry, education, and workforce professionals. It is designed to educate and guide those individuals, who might be considering a construction career, into the proper decision making process before making a serious career commitment.

The program consists of three sessions totaling 110 hours. It can be offered in either a daytime or nighttime schedule. The sessions are in a modular format. This allows participants flexible entry and completion points.

Successful completion of the program provides the participant with up to three nationally recognized industry credentials. These portable credentials follow the participant throughout the state, and throughout the country.

Staff from the BCC can assist in the design and implementation of a local program. A primary intent of the program is to bring together more effective local partnerships focused on local economic development.
